Chip-In
About the Event
Anti-Cruelty is partnering with 24Pet and the Chicagoland Humane Coalition to 'Chip in' and provide free microchipping services for dogs and cats on Saturday, June 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. To participate, visit our River North location in the Auditorium and Training Center.
The event aims to provide pet parents with this service ahead of the Fourth of July when over 3,000 dogs and cats commonly go missing each year. Microchipped dogs are twice as likely to make their way home while cats are five times as likely, however, only 20-30% of pets in the US are currently microchipped. Our goal is to help raise that number across the Chicagoland area and increase awareness about the importance of microchipping.
All participating dogs should be leashed, and cats should be in carriers.
