Join our Community of Caring and Volunteer
So, you love animals and want to lend a helping hand to the pets in your community? Well, you’ve come to the right place!
The Anti-Cruelty Society has provided shelter and medical care for hundreds of thousands of animals since 1899. Volunteers make our continued success possible by helping throughout our shelter, adoption centers, veterinary clinic, and even from the comfort of their own homes, as well as many other places around the community.
The Anti-Cruelty Society relies on our volunteers to help us care for animals in need. With more than 600 people giving of their time and talents, our dedicated volunteers provide over 50,000 hours each year to support the work of the Society.
Volunteering can be onsite The Anti-Cruelty Society or in the community. Whether you choose to help at our main adoption center at 510 N. LaSalle Drive, or you want to connect at our satellite facility at 1101 S. Canal Street, or help at a community event, there are many ways you can help us in our mission to assist Chicago’s animals that are most in need. And there are different opportunities for different people.
