Empty Shelters = Full Hearts
Adoption saves two lives – the adopted pet and the one who takes their place in the shelter.
As shelters across the country face overcrowding, BISSELL Pet Foundation is aiming to "Empty the Shelters" by sponsoring a reduced adoption fee from July 22–31, 2024.
Finding a loving home for every pet is the ultimate goal of BISSELL Pet Foundation. As the nation’s largest funded adoption event, Empty the Shelters helps homeless pets find families by making adoption affordable for prospective pet owners. We do this by supporting participating organizations with reimbursement for each pet adopted.
Reduced Adoption Fees:
- Puppies - $50
- Dogs - $50
- Kittens - $50
- Cats - $50
Small animal adoption fees remain:
- Rabbits - $40
- Guinea Pig - $20
- Pair of Guinea Pigs - $25
- Gerbils, hamsters, fancy rats - $10
Empty the Shelters, BISSELL Pet Foundation's largest program, began in 2016 as an effort to encourage more families to adopt a pet into their home. More than 83,000 pets have found adoptive homes through this reduced-fee adoption event.
