Hold a Bake Sale

Homemade Treats

People love sweets so hosting a sale of homemade treats can be a fun way to raise money for the animals of Anti-Cruelty.

Ideas For Your Bake Sale

  • Select a location to hold your bake sale. It could be your school, community center, church, synagogue, or local store. Be sure to ask the location for permission to host the bake sale!
  • Get those creative juices flowing by making colorful, eye-catching posters and flyers to distribute around your community. Be sure to put on your posters when and where your bake sale will be held.
  • Bake your favorite treats, individually package them and decide how much to charge for them.
  • If your customers don’t have cash on hand, please direct them to anticruelty.org to make a donation right from their mobile device!
  • Talk to family and friends about donating some treats to your bake sale.
  • Make sure to track your service hours using any forms from your school.
  • Be sure to keep copies of your flyers and take pictures during your project: you’ll need these for credit!

Putting Together Your Project Summary to Receive Credit

Now that you have held your Bake Sale and raised lots of money to help animals, it’s time to get credit for all your hard work!

  • Turn in the money to Anti-Cruelty. Be sure to turn in your name, phone number and address with your donation. Don’t forget to take pictures!
  • Write a 1-2 page summary of your experience. Some things you may want to include are why you chose this project, if you enjoyed working on it, and how you feel you helped animals.
  • Schedule a 15 minute interview with the Humane Education Department by sending an e-mail to learn@anticruelty.org or by phone at 312-645-8095

At Your Interview, You Should Bring With You

  • Your 1-2 page summary
  • Your completed Service Learning forms from your school
  • Photos from your service project
  • Any forms from your school that need to be signed by the Humane Educator
