As Chicago’s oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization with a mission of building community by helping pets and educating people, our Open-Door philosophy and our commitment to care for and protect animals in need offers an opportunity to make a difference. From our humble beginnings in 1899, we are now at the forefront of animal welfare and humane education caring for pets and their humans. Anti-Cruelty Board members participate in the development of the strategies and policies while monitoring the organization’s financial health, programs and overall performance.
