Clear the Shelters

The Anti-Cruelty Society is excited to partner with NBC 5 and Telemundo Chicago for the fifth annual Clear the Shelters event! The nationwide pet adoption initiative will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. More than 1,000 shelters around the country are joining in, but you can meet your forever friend right here at The Anti-Cruelty Society!

In addition, this year PetSmart locations that house animals from The Anti-Cruelty Society will also be participating, including the Everyday Adoption Center in the South Loop PetSmart at 1101 S. Canal St. Cats and dogs 5 months and older will have their adoption fee waived during this special event so we can help as many animals as possible find their forever homes. The Anti-Cruelty Society takes adoption seriously, and for that reason, our normal adoption process will remain in place during the event.
