Humane Heroes

Humane Heroes

Humane Heroes is a distinguished giving program that honors our most dedicated supporters—individuals who contribute $2,500 or more annually to sustain  Anti-Cruelty’s lifesaving mission.

By becoming a Humane Hero, you are making an extraordinary commitment to protecting and caring for animals in need while helping to shape a more compassionate Chicago. Your support ensures that we can continue to:

  • Rescue and Protect Animals – Responding to cases of cruelty and neglect, providing critical medical care, and giving every pet a chance at a better life.
  • Strengthen the Human-Animal Bond – Finding loving homes for homeless animals and supporting pet owners through adoption, fostering, and behavior resources.
  • Increase Access to Veterinary Care – Offering low-cost spay/neuter services and bringing essential pet care resources directly to the community.
  • Keep Pets and Families Together – Providing safety-net programs that support pet owners in times of crisis, helping them care for and stay with their beloved animals.

Exclusive Benefits for Humane Heroes

“I am proud to be a Humane Hero because I’ve seen first-hand the impact that Anti-Cruelty has in Chicago. From the joy a new pet brings to a family, to seeing a previously abused animal learning to love and trust again, to providing lifesaving services to our abused animal learning to love and trust again, to providing lifesaving services to our community, they are creating a more compassionate, humane Chicago. Supporting that work makes me truly feel like a hero.” —Sue Ettelson, proud member of Humane Heroes
