Pop-Up Pet Food Pantries
About The Event
Anti-Cruelty distributes pet food to Chicago neighborhoods through this innovative program that goes to the heart of the community to help keep pets and people together.
When the pandemic started causing financial challenges for already struggling Chicago neighborhoods, Anti-Cruelty launched its Pop-up Pet Food Pantries.
We now collaborate monthly with social service agencies such as Metropolitan Family Services, the Greater Food Depository, and the city of Chicago to provide pet food at drive-up community food events in underserved communities on Chicago’s south and west sides.
Each month, Anti-Cruelty staff and volunteers distribute hundreds of bags of dry cat and dog food to pet owners.
Since the pandemic began, we have provided over 675,000 pet meals or more than 5,000 pounds of pet food each month.
