Crafting Crew Group Volunteer Program

If you’re looking for a one-off on-site volunteer opportunity with the Society, consider signing your team up to become a Crafting Crew!

Our group volunteer sessions enable your team to help shelter animals in a practical way by crafting enrichment projects using common everyday materials. These finished items go a long way in making sure the critters remain happy, healthy, and comfortable while they’re in our care.

Participating groups will see an introductory presentation about The Anti-Cruelty Society and receive a behind-the-scenes tour of our facilities. We also encourage groups to bring in food (or have it catered) and enjoy music or a movie of their choice while they work.

Crafting Projects
Below is the current list of enrichment projects approved for use in our shelter. Your group can choose to do just one or all of these (or any combination in between) during your Crafting Crew session.

Cat Wands
Cork Toys
Kitty Sachets
Dog Tug Toys
No-Sew Beds

Scheduling a Session
To help us in the facilitation of these events, we recommend that you schedule your session at least one month in advance, giving you time to plan and collect supplies for the crafts. Groups can be scheduled Monday – Saturday from either 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00–4:00 p.m. We do ask that groups come in with a minimum of at least 10 participants; the max number of participants for this program is set at 30 people. To help defray costs, there is also a suggested donation of $250 for interested groups. If you have any questions, or you would like to book a session, please email us at education@anticruelty.org.
