FIELD SERVICES ABUSE AND NEGLECT SERVICE UPDATE:
The Anti-Cruelty Society is dedicated to protecting and caring for animals in need and our field services team is an important part of our program. Due to the temporary unavailability of key field service personnel, however, we are unable to investigate or respond to cases of abuse or neglect that are reported to us at this time.
When allegations are reported to us, we will make referrals to agencies with the ability to take action, notably Chicago Animal Care & Control, the Chicago Police department and local police departments throughout the county. If you see a potential abuse or neglect situation, however, it would be best for you to reach out directly to the authorities to share the allegations of abuse/neglect directly to the authorities in order to ensure they have the necessary information to take action.
In Chicago please call 311 or 911 to report any potential animal abuse or neglect. In other municipalities, please contact your local police for guidance.
Our commitment to helping animals in need remains. Our field services program will return to regular business as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
