2018: A Year in Review
At The Anti-Cruelty Society in 2018 nearly 5,700 animals were adopted from our facilities and nearly 10,000 cats, dogs, and rabbits were spayed or neutered. Many of these services were provided to members of the community through our accessible spay/neuter program which also shows the reach of the message on the importance of spaying and neutering pets. During 2018, we reached more than 25,000 people through community-based outreach programs and nearly 800 people reached out to the Society’s free Behavior Helpline, helping pet families with concerns about their animals. Our field services team investigated 600 complaints of abuse or neglect and helped nearly 1,000 animals in need of care and service.
The community gave back to pets in need in 2018! Volunteers gave more than 52,000 service hours back to the Society and there were 266 animals in foster homes throughout the year. Thanks to everyone who helped us meet our mission to build a community of caring by helping pets and educating people. We certainly could not do our important work without the support of the community, thank you!
