The Anti-Cruelty Society Takes in Over 80 Animals From Hurricane Harvey
Over 80 animals were brought to The Anti-Cruelty Society on Monday from areas impacted by Hurricane Harvey. These were cats and dogs living in Houston area shelters prior to the storms hitting the area. Bringing these animals to Chicago helps create space in the Houston shelters to provide temporary housing for animals displaced from their homes in hopes of reuniting with their families. Many of these pets were placed in foster homes and will be available for adoption later this week.
This relief effort was made possible by The Humane Society of the United Sates (HSUS) and Wings of Rescue. A special thank you to Fido to go Dog & Cat Treat Food Truck for joining us at the Waukegan airport and helping us transfer all the cats back to our facility!
