What brought you to The Anti-Cruelty Society?
Over the course of the past few years, I adopted two cats from the Society. Both of them had been longer term residents when I adopted them. It broke my heart to think of them sitting all alone in the shelter for so many months before I got there to take them home. So I decided to start volunteering to try and make the lives of the animals at the shelter a little happier while they waited for their forever homes.
What is your favorite part about volunteering at The Anti-Cruelty Society?
Seeing the positive effects of myself and the other volunteers and staff have on the wallflower cats. Seeing a cat who may be overwhelmed by the sights, sounds and smells of the shelter when they first get there become more and more social and outgoing due to the efforts of the volunteers and staff is incredibly rewarding. Seeing those same cats get adopted and knowing I helped them is the best.
Who are your pets?
I now have three cats. Louisa is an 8 year old brown tabby girl with medium-to-long fur, she’s my little sweetheart. Castiel is my 3 year old white and black shorthair boy with a handsome black mustache. And finally, Azrael is my 1 year old tuxedo cat boy who has been nearly inseparable from his older brother since the day they first met.
